NASA Panel

Just like during the Apollo missions of the 1960s and ‘70s, Huntsville’s Marshall Space Flight Center is a key player in landing astronauts on the Moon as part of the Artemis campaign. The Human Landing System (HLS) Program, managed at Marshall, leverages the center’s 65 years of engineering expertise to support U.S. industry as they develop the landers that will transport crew to the lunar surface. The physics of getting to the Moon are the same as during Apollo, but the rockets, spacecraft, spacesuits, and computer power – and even the contractors building the systems — are a whole new ball game! Join us as a panel of experts discuss several of the primary challenges associated with landing on the Moon that the HLS program is working with industry to overcome.
