Our traditional concept of the three-dimensional universe we live in is changing with brilliant new observations and fantastic new understandings. Could our entire universe be a vast accumulation of information like in a flat holographic image being projected as a living three-dimensional hologram?
Dr. John Perry, a recently retired senior lecturer of physics at the University of Vermont, founder and president of the former Holographics North, a hologram production studio and gallery in Burlington, produced hundreds of some of the largest and most detailed holograms for museums and other clients around the world between 1984 and 2019.
Dr. Perry uses laser light to project his holograms, both large and small, to demonstrate live to us how a flat informational storage surface can be expanded into a three-dimensional reality. He will briefly explain the Holographic Universe concept related to black holes, string theories, gravity, and event horizons.
