Astronomy on Tap – Orlando Event #35: Bennu There, Done That!

Greetings, Space Nerds! 🚀✨

We’re back for Astronomy on Tap Orlando Event #35! Join us at Bruder Brewery & Kitchen on Thursday, October 1st, from 7–9 PM for another out-of-this-world evening of space science, drinks, and cosmic conversation! 🍻🌌

We’ll kick off the night with Dr. Lucas Smith, a postdoctoral scholar in UCF’s Department of Physics, as he takes us on a journey with the OSIRIS-REx mission to Bennu and back, exploring the mission’s incredible journey and some of the exciting science coming from the samples it brought home. Then, Lorraine Rosello Del Valle will take us even closer to the action, revealing how space weathering has altered the samples returned from Bennu and what those changes can tell us about this ancient asteroid.

This is definitely an AoT you do NOT want to miss! As always, we’ll wrap up the night with a round of space trivia, where you’ll have a chance to win some fun astronomy-themed prizes! 🪐🏆
