Explore how giant stars live fast and leave their mark in the Universe’s busiest neighbourhoods.
Big stars rarely live alone. Many of them are born, evolve, and die in dense stellar environments where gravity, chemistry, and crowd dynamics all shape their fate. From the lives of massive stars to the evolution of star clusters and even galaxies, these “stellar cities” are some of the most fascinating places in the Universe.
We’re excited to welcome two outstanding experts who will guide us through this cosmic metropolis:
Corinne Charbonnel Professor at the University of Geneva and senior researcher at CNRS France; exploring how stars evolve, forge the chemical elements, and shape the history of star clusters and galaxies. 🌟
Mark Gieles ICREA Professor at the University of Barcelona; bringing the stellar dynamics perspective on how dense star clusters live, change, and interact over cosmic time. 🌌
A night of giant stars, crowded clusters, and the physics that governs some of the Universe’s busiest neighbourhoods.
Admission to the event is free, but we appreciate your help with planning by registering via the Eventbrite website.
