Join us at 7:30PM PST, Monday, January 12th for Astronomy on Tap hosted at the outdoor Dog Haus Biergarten in Old Town Pasadena. We’ll hear from Stanford postdoctoral fellow Jesse Han discussing his recent breakthrough discovery of the supermassive black hole in our closest galactic neighbor with a talk entitled: “Our Neighboring Supermassive Black Hole and How to Find It.” We will additionally host Carnegie Observatories postdoctoral fellow Allison Matthews speaking about the seminal figure Grote Reber with a talk entitled: “I Am Grote: How One Man Changed Radio Astronomy Forever.” In addition, we will have a telescope on-hand for guided stargazing, professional astronomers to answer your science questions, astronomically-themed pub trivia with prizes, and NASA educational swag!
