More Information
Modern life is “brain-unfriendly.” Our brains did not evolve to function in an environment like ours, which floods us with information, distractions, and excessive cognitive demands. At the same time, many of us are going through life chronically stressed, sleep deprived, and either overmedicated or with untreated physical or emotional problems. The result is a perfect storm of depleted brains in an overwhelming world. Because of this, we find ourselves “glitching”: We miss important appointments, we forget to pick up the kids from practice, and we find the car keys in the fridge. Join Dr. Menchola, a clinical neuropsychologist and author of “A Brain Friendly Life,” to review concrete strategies that help improve the functioning of our depleted and overwhelmed brains. Dr. Marisa Menchola is a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist. She is Associate Professor and Director of Neuropsychology Training in the Clinical Psychology Program at Midwestern University Glendale, and she is in private practice in Tucson, Arizona. She is the author of “A Brain-Friendly Life: How to Manage Cognitive Overload and Reduce Glitching” (Taylor and Francis).
