Biodiversity of Mjaidel

This place-based biodiversity documentation project invites community members to explore, observe, and record the natural world in Mjaidel (Jezzine district, South of Lebanon) using iNaturalist. By contributing observations of plants, animals, and other organisms, participants help build a growing, publicly accessible dataset that supports scientific research, conservation efforts, and environmental decision-making.

Each observation adds to a long-term record of local biodiversity, helping scientists, conservationists, and policymakers better understand ecosystem health, track changes over time, and identify priorities for protection. Through collective effort, this project fosters environmental awareness, strengthens community engagement, and promotes data-driven stewardship of natural spaces.
