ecoEXPLORE is a community science project that encourages youth ages 5-13 to get outside and explore nature! By submitting photographs of wild plants, animals, or fungi ecoEXPLORERS can earn over 20+ science badges (ex. Ornithology, Botany, Herpetology, Entomology, Mammalogy, etc.) and points to redeem for FREE science tools such as binoculars and insect nets. Participants can earn extra points from submitting observations from 350+ ecoEXPLORE HotSpots and can borrow a backpack filled with observation tools from over 70+ LoanSpots across North Carolina. Free in-person and virtual events related to the ecoEXPLORE Field Seasons are also promoted on the ecoEXPLORE website!
