More Information

Seals and other pinnipeds like walruses and sea lions have a long history of exploitation by humans. Conservation measures have managed to recover many (not all!) populations in some areas, which has led to some conflict with humans — mostly around fisheries and shared beaches. They are also impacted by some human-related diseases near coastal communities. eSeal aims to track these broad social, biological, and anthropogenic trends to inform in-depth studies. Join our team to share your data and contribute to eSeal!
