More Information

Learn about some of the important wild plants of the Colorado Plateau and their uses on this guided tour of the Moore Medicinal Garden at the Museum of Northern Arizona. The garden has more than 130 species, many featured in the books of Southwest herbalist Michael Shaw Moore, who studied the Indigenous knowledge of ways each plant can be used for food, medicine, basket making, clothing, dyes, and much more.       Part of Flagstaff Festival of Science, a free annual 10-day event wholly designed to promote awareness and enthusiasm for science in and about northern Arizona and beyond, and is fondly known as the Best 10 Days of the Year. Established in 1990, it is the longest, continuously running, entirely free science festival in the world.
