In this project, we are collecting information on any apparently healthy American beech trees (Fagus grandifolia) growing in Maine to help researchers find trees with possible genetic resistance to beech bark scale disease. Possibly resistant beech have smooth, gray trunks free of the holes, scars and cracks found on diseased beech.
