More Information
Join Ranger Nikki on an easy/moderate hike to see the sunset and full moonrise and enjoy the desert aglow. Ranger Nikki leads this hike to watch the sun set behind the mountains and the full moon rise to the east. We will listen for coyote and owl calls and watch for bat silhouettes against the dimly lit sky. Bring your blacklight and regular flashlight to look for other evening critters such as scorpions, kangaroo rats, stink bugs and more. The route uses NoSo and Blevins Trails to make a 2-mile loop. The terrain ranges from even and smooth to uneven with small to medium rocks underfoot. No pets, please. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. Restrooms and water are available at the Trailhead. Please bring $7 exact cash for the self-pay station or your annual pass to display on your vehicle. Please note: Outdoor summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events. The Maricopa County Parks website (www.maricopa.gov/parks) is the most accurate resource for verifying the program’s current status. Please check the program listing online before coming to the park.
