Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Guided Reptile Walk

Learn about reptiles and amphibians on this guided walk with Ranger Eric. Join Ranger Eric to go herping (looking for reptiles and amphibians) at this desert oasis! We will discuss identification and behavior of Sonoran Desert and riparian herpetofauna as we go on this easy stroll. Please wear sturdy footwear and sun protection, carry ample water for yourself, and hydrate and take electrolytes beforehand. We will hike about 0.5-1 mile at most, depending on the heat. The trails are mostly level, but with some sandy or uneven surfaces along the river trails; Palm Lake is barrier-free and navigable in wheelchair or with stroller though. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Visitor Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on Friday, 6/6. PLEASE NOTE: Outdoor summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events.
