Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Intro to Desert Hiking Class

Stop by the nature center after your morning hikes and learn about how to safely hike in the parks as summer kicks into full swing with Ranger Derik. Ranger Derik will have a short 30-40 minute presentation set up covering topics about preparing and staying safe in the front county and backcountry of the Maricopa County Parks. After the presentation the ranger will have a sample backpack set up to show what a ranger would carry on a full day out in the desert. Feel free to bring your own gear and feel free to ask any questions you may have. This is an indoor program, but restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center.
