Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Scorpion Safari

Join Ranger Kevin for an evening of adventure as we set off in search of scorpions. This family friendly program is an approximately 2-mile hike along the Slate trail. We’ll be looking for the three main types of scorpions native to our region. At the same time, we’ll keep our eyes open for other desert critters that may be around. The trail is rated easy with little loose rock, uneven surfaces and elevation change. Please bring plenty of water and wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes. Bring flashlights; black UV lights are optional.
