Join Ranger Derik on an easy/moderate hike to the only summit hike in the County Park System and get sweeping views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. Ranger Derik will lead you on a 3-mile hike with 340ft of elevation gain. The terrain on this hike is uneven with small to medium rocks underfoot. No pets, please. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. Restrooms and water are available at the trailhead. MEETING LOCATION: Cottonwood Day Use Area Map of Meeting Location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/EExMfrt3oWcjTg8N7 Limit 20 participants. To register, please email Derik.Rodgers@maricopa.gov with the program name and date, your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please email Ranger Derik. ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 6/13/25 Please note: Summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events.
