More Information

National Moth Week is a global citizen science event celebrating the beauty, diversity, and ecological importance of moths. People around the world participate by observing, photographing, and identifying moths in their local areas during July 18–26, 2026.

Participants contribute valuable biodiversity data that helps scientists study moth distribution, behavior, and ecology. Events can take place anywhere — from backyards and parks to nature centers and community gatherings — and can be enjoyed by beginners and experienced naturalists alike.
