Quantum Physics Gets Big!
Learn about this year’s Nobel Prize in Physics on December 18th, Thursday, at 7pm at the Daily Planet Cafe in the NC Museum of Natural Sciences.
The 2025 physics Nobel honors groundbreaking research that led to the discovery of macroscopic quantum mechanical tunneling and energy quantization in an electric circuit. Join Prof. Weijian Chen and Dr. Xiang Li to learn the science behind this discovery and how it provides opportunities for developing new generations of quantum technology, including quantum cryptography, quantum computers, and quantum sensors.
This event is aimed at the general public and will consist of a 30 min lecture followed by another 30 min of Q&A with the audience.
This very special presentation is brought to you by the NCSU Department of Physics and Astronomy and the NC Museum of Natural Sciences.
