More Information

Through this interactive, hands-on program your child will experience a snapshot of a day in the life of a Zoo Keeper. Travel behind-the-scenes to the Zoo’s kitchen to learn what the animals at the Zoo eat and watch a training demonstration with an animal ambassador. Creating an enrichment puzzle for an animal and visiting the goat yard and aviary will provide opportunities for your child to see and do some of the tasks the animal care staff have to care for these species. Have your child leave their best clothes at home and be prepared to get down and dirty on this behind-the-scenes adventure! These classes are designed for children to participate independently. Parents, please plan on dropping your child off for this program. Drop-off and pick-up will be at the front of the Zoo. If your child is unable to participate without an aide, please contact us to discuss accommodations at: education@reidparkzoo.org. If parents or families want to enter the Zoo during or after class, they will need to pay regular zoo admission. Reid Park Zoo members can use their membership for admission. Age: Designed for 6-12 year-olds Price: $20 for Zoo Member children (discount applied in your cart after log in) $25 for Non-Member children
