This trip is intended for beginning birds or Tucson visitors. We’ll move at a slow pace, practicing identifying birds by shape, sound, color, and behavior. Fort Lowell Park features diverse habitats, including grassy fields, a manmade pond, an old pecan orchard, and native trees and shrubs. Expect to see a mix of birds, including house finches, lesser goldfinches, verdin, doves, hummingbirds, flickers, woodpeckers, and a variety of waterfowl. Meet in the parking lot off of N. Craycroft Road (2900 N Craycroft Rd, Tucson, AZ 85712) Trip Duration: 2 hours. Trip Difficulty: Easy. Walking distance: 1-2 miles on level but uneven surfaces, in sun and shade.
