More Information

Trip difficulty: Easy. Travel is about 2 miles on level formed trails, with occasional gentle slopes. Rio Vista Park is one of two Natural Resource Parks within the City of Tucson. Nearly 80% of the park is undeveloped with open scrub the predominant vegetation, as well as some densely vegetated areas. The remainder is recreation area. The entire park has opportunities for seeing a variety of birds, from hawks, to flycatchers, as well as gnatcatchers, sparrows, and nesting Lucy’s Warblers. We will meander through trails in the park and perhaps spend some time seeing what we can find in the Rillito River which lies adjacent to the park Leaders: Gary Bachman Registration for Tucson Bird Alliance Members is free. Non-members can join this field trip for a non-refundable fee of $5.
