More Information

Help survey golden eagles in the wild in the blufflands region of southeast Minnesota, western Wisconsin and northeast Iowa during our Annual Wintering Golden Eagle Survey held each January. We are conducting the survey as a part of a project investigating golden eagles that winter in the region.

This survey has greatly expanded what we know about wintering Golden Eagles and other raptors, and that is because of you, the citizen scientist! Last year (2025) over 220 citizen scientists surveyed 94 survey routes in portions of five states covering an area of approximately 24,000 sq miles! Surveyors documented 139 Golden Eagles, 1,808 Bald Eagles, 714 Red-tailed Hawks to name just a few of things observed! Are you ready to help us this year?
