Join Ranger Jacque for a hike and mine tour which features a fascinating glimpse into Arizona’s past. Join Ranger Jacque for a roughly 1.8-mile round-trip hike to the Clay Mine, where Leila Irish built a unique business based on a remarkable natural discovery. This program features a tour of the mine itself and explores the fascinating story of innovation, ambition, and the pursuit of the American Dream. Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and bring water. We’ll meet at the Nature Center, where restrooms and water fountains are available. No pets, please. PLEASE NOTE: Outdoor summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events.
